Both notice and statement refer to a a formal, written communication in a contract setting. A notice is a communication by one contracting party to the other, usually requiing actions within a time frame or giving substantive information which will effect further performance of the contract.

A statement is a communication by any person, not necesarily a contracting party, and it is generally an expression of a fact, disclosure of information regarding anything one wishes to express or other such matters.
