Difference between higher education and continuing education

The notion of higher education is more widespread but it is important to distinguish between this one and continuing education. Higher education is often called tertiary education or third-level education, as after finishing secondary education, you have the chance to go on with studying at a university or college. For this, you need to have a General Certificate of Secondary Education. As for continuing education, it is a program which brings participants up to a date in a given area of knowledge or skills. These courses are designed for part-time adult students. It is similar to further education in the United Kingdom.
