Difference between invasion and occupation

Both terms have to do with the meanings in military sense, however, their meaning differs from other points of view. Invasion means the entrance of an armed force into a territory to conquer or it relates to any intrusion. Besides, it means the onset or advent of something harmful, especially, a disease. In pathology, it refers to the spread of cancer from its point of origin into surrounding tissues. Invasion also occurs in the field of botany, where it means the movement of plants to a new area or where they are not native. Occupation, on the other hand, means primarily the activity that serves as one’s regular source of livelihood, in other words, it is their vocation. It also refers to possessing a place, or the military government exercising control over an occupied nation.
