General private law: It consist of the traditional fields of civil law, namely the law of persons, property, contracts, torts, succession and family.
Special private law: Fields of the private law which, due to their nature, require special regulations, such as commercial law, business law and labour law. Some scholars believe intellectual property law also belongs to this category.
