Probation period is the initial period of employment during which both parties may terminate the employment with immediate effect. During this period the employer may make sure that the employee is capable of performing his/her duties at a required standard.
Probation is a situation or period of time in which a person who has committed a crime is allowed to stay out of prison if that person behaves well, does not commit another crime, etc.
